June 27th, 2008 - Flood of 2008
Where were you during the flood? Did your home get ruined? Did you lose any pets? Did your car float away? Etc, etc, etc.
These are all questions we’ll be answering for our grandchildren someday, because this flood definitely made the history books.
Thankfully I live on high ground, but several people I know were not so lucky. I’m sure you know a few people this flood affected.
The one thing I haven’t heard too much about is the pets that were lost or killed. Where are these people that lost their animals? I know everyone is so pre-occupied with getting their lives back in order but, why are the animal shelters packed to the gills with unclaimed pets? I’m sure that the shelters will eventually start putting these animals to sleep. So, if you haven’t seen your cat, don’t just assume It’s dead…..get off your butt, head to the shelters, and look for it!
Anyway, these places need our help, whether it be food donations or volunteer work, or anything that could take the heavy load off our shelter workers back. Thank you.

This is the first post on the blog. At the time, there are a couple of us that will be running the blog content among other responsibilities so we hope to make a post at least once a day thru the week. We’re off on weekends for the most part, so don’t expect too much then
